It’s Time to Invest in Yourself
I sleep on $5,000 every night.
🌙 An Anthropologie bed I treated myself to when I got my Facebook offer.
🌙 A Casper Wave mattress that will (hopefully!) support my knees, hips, and shoulders as I age. 😌
🌙 Seasonal duvets. Also Anthropologie.
🌙 And Egyptian cotton sheets because… Honey, why not?!
We spend roughly one-third of our lives sleeping, so investing in good sleep just makes sense.
We also spend nearly 90,000 hours at work over the course of our lives.
Ninety. Thousand. Hours.
Yet when it comes to our careers—to clean up our résumé, work with a coach, sharpen our positioning, negotiate better, or finally land the role we actually want—we suddenly hesitate.
That has never made sense to me.
A career isn't just what pays for the bed, the sheets, the mattress.
It's what shapes your days.
☀️ Your confidence.
☀️ Your opportunities.
☀️ Your earning potential.
☀️ Your sense of purpose.
Funny how we'll pay more for the better mattress, but try to bargain-shop for the career that pays for it.
If you're pursuing a $150K+ role, spending a couple thousand dollars on yourself isn't the expensive decision.
Underinvesting in the thing that shapes the next decade of your career might be.
The best investments don't just improve your life. They expand what's possible.
Now, if you ask me, that's an ROI worth paying attention to.
