The second-best time is now…

Welcome to a brand-new year! ✨

If you’re easing into 2026 instead of bursting through the door with big declarations, you’re in very good company. I’ve been leaning into these first couple of weeks, slow and steady.

This past weekend at a street cleanup, I was talking with my friend Cara, and she shared that one of her goals this year is to “network more”—but what she really meant was be more intentional about showing up. Not networking for the sake of collecting names or LinkedIn connections, but putting herself in rooms (virtual ones count!) where conversations happen and momentum builds.

If building your personal brand or getting more visible on LinkedIn is on your mind this year (even quietly—I see you job huggers), here’s my gentle encouragement:

Start small, but start on purpose.

That might look like:

  • Updating your headline so it actually reflects where you’re headed

  • Engaging thoughtfully with a few posts each week

  • Letting people know (clearly!) what you’re interested in next

  • Or simply reminding your network that you’re here and paying attention

  • And if you want a supportive way to kick off those goals…

Beyond ‘Easy Apply’ is happening this Thursday, and it’s a great on-ramp into a more intentional job search and networking mindset for 2026. We’ll talk about how opportunities really move—through people, positioning, and presence—not just applications disappearing into the void.

If this year is about showing up a little more fully (without burning yourself out), I’d love to have you there.

Want the easiest visibility win of 2026? Hang out with me on LinkedIn!

Like a post. Leave a comment. Say hi. You already know me, which makes this the least awkward “networking” you’ll do all year. Visibility doesn’t have to be hard to work.

And if your strategy right now is “show up and hope for the best,” I say this with love—it might be time for a rebrand.

If part of what’s holding you back is worrying about who will see you when you engage or post, you’re not alone. That hesitation is incredibly common.

But let me tell you something: most people aren’t judging! They’re barely paying attention. And that fear? It’s keeping a lot of talented people quieter than they need to be.

In under two minutes, I’ve broken down how to build a personal brand that supports where you’re headed in 2026.

However you’re entering this year—slowly, thoughtfully, with verve, or somewhere in between—I’m really glad you’re here. This community is small but mighty for a reason.

P.S.—If one of your goals this year is to feel more confident, more connected, or more seen in your job search, Beyond ‘Easy Apply’ is a great place to start. I’d love to have you join us this Thursday.
