Are you currently out there applying to hundreds and hundreds of roles only to hear crickets in response? If so, you're not alone. But let me tell you, spraying your résumé, like confetti into the ether isn't the solution.
It feels logical, right? The more you apply, the more opportunities you'll have to land something, anything, that might be somewhat in line with what you'd be good at.
But here's the truth: job search success isn't about the quantity of applications, it's the clarity with which you pursue your applications.
When you're applying to everything under the sun, you're not being strategic. You're just being exhausted.
Instead of hitting "Easy Apply" on every post that crosses your feed, pause and ask yourself these three things.
What strengths do I actually want to bring into my next role?
What kind of environment do I thrive in?
Where do I want my career to go next?
Spend an afternoon answering those questions. Define your goals, your values, and what's a "yes" and what's a "no."
Once you're clear on all of that, your applications will feel sharper, your conversations will be more grounded, and most importantly, your confidence will start to come back. Because you're not chasing everything. You are choosing intentionally.
The truth is, job searching can drain you, but it does not have to define you.
If you stop focusing on volume and start focusing on alignment, not only will you land a job faster, but you will land one that actually fits.
So before you hit apply, or even "Easy Apply," again, ask yourself, does this job align with my goals? And if not, skip it because your job search deserves better than confetti.
