Building My Newsletter Community

Apparently, everyone on the internet has thousands of weekly newsletter subscribers. I, however, do not.

First of all, I tried the weekly thing. Honey… that was not happening. The pressure to be witty on command every seven days? A recipe for disaster.

And speaking of recipes—everyone’s sharing recipes in their newsletters. No shade if you’re locked in with Halfbaked Harvest, but I’m over here eating the same four dinners on repeat with my solo self.

Anyway. Back to the point.

A while back, I was feeling weirdly self-conscious about my newsletter. So I asked my GPT, Gia (because apparently that’s who I run my existential business questions by now, don't @ me!).

I said, “Gia, is it silly that only a little over 200 people are subscribed?”

And she said, “No. That just means it’s an intimate community.”

And I sat with that for a minute.

Because 200 people isn’t actually small. That’s a full room. A room of people choosing, voluntarily, to spend a few minutes with my thoughts every couple of weeks. A room where people reply, share their stories, and tell me what resonated.

At some point, it stopped feeling like an audience and started feeling like a conversation.

Every other Tuesday, I send:

📮 practical career insights you can actually apply

📮 straight-talk job search and positioning guidance

📮 coaching perspectives to help you find clarity and confidence

📮 tools and mindset shifts to help you move forward without spinning your wheels

And honestly, in a world that constantly tells us to grow faster, get bigger, reach more people… I’ve started to really appreciate building something slower and more intentional.

People who are there because they want to be.

People who are figuring out careers, confidence, and what’s next alongside each other.

So yes, my newsletter is still small. But it’s growing week by week, human by human.

And I kind of love it that way.

If you’ve been looking for thoughtful career conversations or just a corner of the internet that feels a little more human than the algorithm, you’re very welcome to join us.

We hang out here👇🏽 every other Tuesday. Will I see you there?
