The Rise of Quiet Leadership

Remember back in 2012 when Quiet by Susan Cain came out? It was revolutionary for me because I was oftentimes the loudest person in the room.

Surprising to no one, I was always talking.

(Sidenote: If you'll remember, in your 20s, you know everything.)

The book, though, taught me to pause and listen before I constantly jumped in with my thoughts, to be curious about the people who don't speak first.

Because sometimes the most thoughtful voice in the room is simply the one that takes a little longer to process before speaking.
