What's Your Job Search Experience?
If you’re in the messy middle of a job search, you already know, this whole process is wildly subjective.
The same résumé can land you an interview with one company and radio silence from another.
It’s not just about your skills; it’s about timing, fit, and who’s reading your story that day.
That’s why I want to hear from you if you’re navigating the ups, downs, and in-betweens of a job search. We learn best when we learn together!
And if you’re ready to stop just talking about it and actually start making strategic moves in your search, join me in Own Your Search, my self-paced digital course packed with everything I’ve learned coaching hundreds of professionals to land aligned roles.

Lately, I've been thinking about just how subjective job searching really is. You and I could look at the same résumé for the same candidate and have different opinions about what hits and what doesn't. That's because hiring decisions, like much of career growth, come down to people. Humans, biases, and personal perspective.
Over the past couple of years, I have been developing content around healthy, sustainable, and strategic search strategies rooted in my experience as a career coach and as a former hiring manager at Meta.
And here's what I've learned: My perspective is just one lens. Your perspective is just one lens. And that hiring manager? Just one lens.
Every week I talk with people who are navigating big career transitions, figuring out what's next, what's possible, and most importantly, what's holding them back.
But no matter how many stories I hear, there is always something new to learn. So I'd love to hear your take.
Where do you get stuck when your job searching?
What part of the process feels like Groundhog Day?
What have you changed that's made a big difference in your results or your mindset?
Because the truth is we grow together when we share what's working and what's not.
As I say to every one of my clients in every one of my calls, "I know what I know, but I don't know what I don't know."
So, let's make this a conversation. Drop your insights in the comments below, or DM me if you'd like to share privately. The goal isn't to get it "right," it's to learn together and perhaps make the job search just a little less lonely.
If you'd like to take this one step further, whether or not you joined Beyond 'Easy Apply', I'd like to invite you to join Own Your Search.
Own Your Search is a step-by-step online training course that teaches you how to develop an individualized purpose-driven job search strategy to position yourself as the best fit for your targeted roles aligned specifically to your values and your long-term goals.
