I can't tell you how many clients, in our first résumé coaching call, have said some version of, "I'm terrible at talking about myself," or "I hate feeling like I'm bragging."
Girl. Same.

This makes hiring someone to help with your career an incredibly personal thing.
You're making a significant investment, yes. But you're also handing someone your story and trusting them to figure out how to tell it.
And that's why I think the connection you have with the person doing this work matters so much.
Most people aren't used to sitting down and waxing poetic about everything they've accomplished, what they're great at, and why someone should hire them. And when you're already questioning yourself in a job search, trying to write all of that on your own can feel even harder.

Because those conversations are where I get to hear the stories you wouldn't think to put on your résumé. I get to ask the follow-up question you might not ask yourself. I get to say, "Wait, go back. You did WHAT?" when you casually mention something that absolutely belongs in your career narrative.
And somewhere along the way, what felt like bragging starts to feel more like simply telling the truth about what you've done.
Ian came away with a résumé he loved, more clarity around his approach, and, a few weeks later, a new job.
He's now been in that role for a year and a half.
That's why I don't think great résumé work starts with writing.
It starts with trust.
Find someone you can talk to. Someone who's curious about you. Someone who makes you feel comfortable enough to tell the whole story.
Because that's how they find the parts of your story you didn't even realize were worth telling.
