In this week's most rude-but-relevant job-search news, it seems your old job applications may have a longer shelf life than some of your (read: my) relationships. 😭
Workday’s new Talent Acquisition Agent can continuously monitor open roles and surface qualified candidates from:
📤 Current applicants
📤 Past applicants
📤 Internal talent pools
📤 Connected sourcing platforms
Which means the application you submitted six months ago may not be as dead as you thought.
A recruiter may not have to remember you, rerun a search, or stumble across your résumé at exactly the right moment. The system can bring you back into the conversation when another relevant role opens.
bb, we are in the future.
Now, does this mean every employer using Workday is doing this today?
Not yet. The expanded “autopilot” capabilities are currently available to early adopters, with broader availability planned for 2027, but it does reinforce something important:
Every application now becomes part of your professional paper trail.
So before you fire off that “close enough” résumé just to see what happens, ask yourself:
🎯 Is my target clear?
🎯 Are my dates, titles, and skills consistent?
🎯 Does this accurately represent what I can do?
🎯 Would I want this employer using it to consider me for another role later?
Because your application may no longer be a one-time audition for one job.
It may be the beginning of a much longer conversation with that employer.
And, babe, let’s make sure you like what you said. 😘
