The Sleepy Season

Summer has officially arrived, my bbs! ☀️🏖️🍉

And with it, the panic that often sets in for job seekers as things suddenly feel... quieter.

↻ Fewer recruiter messages.

↻ Longer response times.

↻ Interview processes that seem to stall out of nowhere.

But not to worry. It's not you; it's the season. Because hiring has seasons, too.

Right now, we're in the midst of summer travel season, and that means vacations, summer Fridays, and shifting priorities can stretch timelines and slow decision-making.

🏖️ July and August are what I like to call the sleepy season. Hiring doesn't disappear, but it often loses momentum.

Instead of panicking, use this time to refresh your résumé, strengthen your network, build new skills, and get yourself ready for the next wave.

And if your search feels slower right now, please don't assume you've suddenly become unemployable.

Sometimes, you're just job searching during a quieter season.

Your advantage isn't avoiding the seasons altogether.

It's knowing when to sprint... and when to use the slower moments to prepare for what's next.

If you've been meaning to update your résumé, this is actually one of my favorite times to do it.

Get it done before the fall rush (because yes, the September Surge is real). Before everyone else realizes they need it.

Future You will be very grateful.

Shoot me a DM if you'd like some help getting it across the finish line.
